Both the App Store and Google Play require a hosted privacy-policy URL. Host this page (e.g. GitHub Pages or a simple static page) and use its URL in both store listings.
Island Hopper (“the game”, “we”) respects your privacy. The game is an offline, single-player arcade game. We do not run our own servers, we have no user accounts, and we do not collect personal information of our own. This policy explains the limited data the game and its third-party services handle.
What the game stores on your device
- Your best score and coin total — saved locally so your progress survives between sessions.
- A mute flag — remembers whether you turned the sound off.
This data lives only on your device. We never see it, and it is removed if you delete the game.
Online leaderboards (Game Center / Google Play Games)
If you are signed in to Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android), the game submits your best score to a leaderboard so you can compare it with other players. This is handled entirely by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies:
- Apple Game Center — https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- Google Play Games — https://policies.google.com/privacy
We only ever send a score value. We do not receive or store your name, email, or account details.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The game shows ads served by Google AdMob, a third-party service. To serve (and, where you consent, personalize) ads, AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers. This is governed by Google’s advertising policies: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Where required by law (EEA/UK GDPR, and others), the game shows a consent prompt through Google’s User Messaging Platform before any personalized ads are served.
- On iOS, the game honours App Tracking Transparency — tracking only occurs if you allow it in the system prompt.
- Island Hopper is an all-ages game, so ad settings are configured for a general audience, using non-personalized / child-appropriate ads where required.
Children
Island Hopper is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only third-party data handling is the platform leaderboards and AdMob described above, each configured for a general audience.
Analytics
The game uses no analytics and no tracking of its own beyond the third-party services named above.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and its effective date before releasing any build that changes how data is handled.
