Privacy Policy — Downhill: Endless Coast Run

Effective 6 August 2026.

Downhill is made by Maxal Studio. This policy covers the Downhill mobile game on iPhone, iPad and Android.

Short version: the game has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. It keeps your best distance on your own device. The only thing that ever leaves your phone is what multiplayer needs while you are in a room with other players, and none of that is stored once you leave.

What stays on your device

  • Your best distance and best score.
  • Your settings — sound, and the rider you picked.

This is written to your device’s own app storage. We cannot see it. Deleting the app deletes it.

What multiplayer sends

Multiplayer is optional. If you never open it, nothing about you ever leaves your device.

When you host or join a room, your device connects to our server at downhillskater.max.al and sends, for as long as you are in that room:

  • The display name shown in the room. By default this is the name your device reports for itself. You can be identified by it only if you have given your device a name that identifies you.
  • A random room code and a random session id, generated fresh each time. It is not linked to you, your device or any previous session.
  • Where you are on the road — your distance, your position across it, and whether you are in the air or have crashed.
  • Your best distance this session, so the room can show a standing.

Other players in your room see your display name, your rider and your distance. That is the point of a room.

None of it is written down. The server holds a room in memory only, for as long as somebody is in it. When the last player leaves, the room and everything in it is gone. There is no database, no log of who played with whom, and nothing to export or delete later. Restarting the server erases everything by design.

The connection is encrypted (wss://).

Online leaderboards

(Applies from the release that adds them; the first release has none.)

If you sign in to your platform’s game service — Game Center on iPhone and iPad, Google Play Games on Android — the game submits your best distance to a leaderboard so it can be ranked against other players.

That service is operated by Apple or Google, not by us. Your player name and score are handled under their policies, and we never receive them:

You can play the entire game without signing in. Nothing is submitted if you do not.

What the game does not do

  • No advertising. No ad network, no advertising identifier, no IDFA, no ATT prompt.
  • No analytics or crash reporting. Unity’s analytics, crash and performance reporting are all switched off in the build.
  • No accounts. No email, no password, no sign-up.
  • No tracking. Nothing about you is combined with data from anywhere else, and nothing is shared, sold or given to a data broker.
  • No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. The game asks for no permissions.
  • No purchases. Nothing to buy.

Children

Downhill is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13 in particular. It collects no personal information from anyone, so there is nothing we hold about a child. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the game, write to us and we will remove it.

Your rights

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to request, correct or delete. Removing the app removes everything the game has kept.

If you are in the EU or UK: the multiplayer data above is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in operating the game feature you chose to use, for the duration of your session only.

Changes

We will update this page if the game’s data practices change, and change the effective date at the top. If a future release adds advertising, analytics or accounts, this policy is rewritten in that release, not afterwards — a policy that is true of the old build and false of the new one is a compliance problem, not a stale document.
